About The Freelancers Union

I have been a member of the Freelancers Union since 2006. They offer a variety of resources including Health insurance. At this time they are are helping NY Freelancers collect unpaid wages. Recently I went to one of their seminars and spoke with them about this topic. They plan to speak with the law makers in Albany about this matter. My thoughts on last nights event

It is so great to meet other Freelancers! This was my second time attending a Freelancers Networking party since I became a member in 2006. At times freelancing can be lonely but last night really gave me hope and inspiration. I met some interesting people who seem to be really passionate about what they do. Especially this one particular guy who does search optimization for web sites. He was so excited about Google I started to get excited.

My plan

I woke up this morning thinking, “Man I should be a freelance rock star!” I should attend more events like this not only to market my self but also to get advice from others who are doing the same thing as me. If I want to make it as a full-time Freelancer I have to dedicate more time to it and stop worrying so much. I am going to keep in contact with those I met tonight. I am so glad I joined the Freelancers Union!
